The USS White Star is the Port Huron chapter of Starfleet, the International Star
Trek Fan Association. We're based in Port Huron, Michigan and serve the entire Blue Water area!
We're a Science Fiction fan club, based around the ideas and concepts
of Star Trek - Infinite Diversiry in Infinite Combination. Our interests spread across the Science
Fiction/Fantasy continuum, from Babylon 5 to Star Wars, The Dragon Riders of Pern to Robotech.
Some of us just like to sit back and catch a few good sci-fi movies. Whatever your interest in
Sci-Fi/Fantasy is, we probably have room for it on the White Star.
We're also part of the Blue Water community, and we hope to work with
the community to help it. Our current efforts are focused on the annual American Cancer Society's Relay for Life... Watch our activities section for
details on fund-raising activites for the Relay for Life!
Starfleet is an international organization made up of local clubs like
ours. It's the largest Fan run club in the world, with over 3000 members on four continents.
Starfleet members receive 6 issues of the Communique, our national newsletter, and are eligible
to enroll in the Starfleet Academy - a series of Trek-related correspondance classes.
Above all else, Starfleet and the White Star are about friendships - friendships we
develop monthly at our meetings locally, friendships from the many Regional activities, and the friendships developed
from participating at the national level.
